Introduction to Narrative Therapy

Venue: EFTC offices, 1212 1/2 Elmwood Ave., Evanston, IL

Tuition: Regular rate, $129; student, $103. To receive the student rate, documentation of student status (such as a copy of student ID, university acceptance letter, course schedule from college website, etc) is required.

CECs**: 6 total (for six hours training). Certificate of completion will be provided to each participant at the end of the training. See note below for more details on CECs.

Schedule: Doors open at 9:00am. We meet from 9:30am – 5:00pm with a 1 ½ hour total break.

This workshop will offer participants an experience of the ideas and basic practices of narrative therapy. The focus will include the narrative metaphor, the post-structuralist worldview, facilitating externalizing conversations and some ways of storying experience. We will also consider what makes a question useful within narrative practice. The format will include discussion, demonstration and exercises.

**CECs: We are an approved provider of continuing education credits (CECs) by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation for social workers (LCSW/LSW), professional counselors (LPC/LCPC), and marriage and family therapists (MFT) and provide certificates of attendance for workshops and trainings.
